Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old (though they can start as young as five and three quarters. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between eight and eight years six months.
Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others.
A group of Beaver Scouts is called a Colony, and each Colony can be split up into smaller groups called Lodges.
Beavers have a Promise and Motto, but there is not a Beaver Scout Law. The concepts of the Scout Law will be presented to Beavers through games, storytelling and other informal devices.
We sometimes organise Sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres.
We meet every Monday evening, from 6pm (except Bank Holidays and School Holidays).
A Weekly payment of £3.00 due at the beginning of each meeting.
Every now and again we will be asking for small contributions towards activities and fee’s for trips and visits, but they are always good value for money.
Don’t be embarrassed to mention to any of the Leaders if you have trouble in paying any of the subscription charges. We will be only too happy to help, we do not want any of our Young People to miss out on any of our activities.
